The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are facing an painful wait for answers and pleading for any details about their children via social media.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Circulated images show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to identify the those who perished of the fire, which killed numerous partygoers and wounded another scores more. Officials stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts still underway to name the final individuals.

In the meantime, relatives have been using social media to appeal for information about their friends who were present at the venue that fateful night.
